Who we are

The Essi Verlin Gallery app is published by Essi Verlin, operated by create.repeat Oy (Business ID 2662670-6), Eteläinen Hesperiankatu 26 E 63, 00100 Helsinki, Finland. Questions about this policy: contact@essiverlin.com.

What the app collects

The app records usage events: which screens are opened (the gallery, a print, the full-screen view, the on-your-wall view) and when. These events carry a random identifier created when the app is installed, and one per session. Neither is your name, email or device serial number.

How the app and the website are connected

The same random identifier travels with you when you open the shop from the app, so we can see that one person browsed a print here and then looked at it on essiverlin.com. If you allowed personalised use on the website, we join those two records into one picture of how you use the shop, and we use it to understand the shop and to show you work you are more likely to care about.

This happens only between OUR OWN app and OUR OWN website, both run by create.repeat Oy. It is not combined with anything about you from anyone else's app or website, it is never sold, and it is never shared with data brokers or advertising networks. The app performs no cross-app tracking and contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDK — there is no Google, Meta or advertising code in it at all, and nothing it records leaves our own servers.

This picture is NOT connected to your shop account. Even when you are signed in on the website, the app's random identifier is kept apart from your name, your email and your orders — what we hold is "this device looked at these things", never "this customer looked at these things". Clearing the app's data or reinstalling makes it a new device to us, with nothing carried over, because there was nothing tying it to you in the first place.

What the app does not collect

No names, no email addresses, no location, no contacts, no photos, no advertising identifiers. No crash reports, no performance measurements, no diagnostics of any kind — the app contains no code that collects them.

The camera

"See It on Your Wall" uses your camera solely to show a print on your wall, on your device. Camera images are processed on the device and are never recorded, stored, or transmitted.

Where the data goes

Usage events are sent only to essiverlin.com — the same shop the app belongs to — and stored on our own server in the EU. They are used to understand how the shop is used, to improve it, and — if you allowed personalised use — to show you work that suits you. They are not sold, not shared with advertising networks or data brokers, and not combined with data about you from anyone else.

Store links

Opening a print in the web store attaches the app's random identifier to the link, so we can see that a visit came from the app. This connects a device's app use to its web visit; it still does not identify you. On the website, our separate cookie banner governs what the site itself collects.

Retention and your rights

Events are kept for up to 24 months, then deleted.

A record tied to a device identifier is still YOUR personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, even though it carries no name — so the rights in that regulation apply to it: to see what we hold, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to object to profiling, and to withdraw the permission you gave without affecting anything done before you withdrew it. We cannot find you by name, because we do not hold one; what we can do is find a DEVICE. Write to contact@essiverlin.com from the phone in question and we will tell you how to read its identifier out of the app, and then we can show you or delete exactly what belongs to it.

Deleting the app, or clearing its data, retires that identifier for good: the phone becomes a new device to us and nothing is carried across.

If the app ever collects more than described here, this policy will be updated first and the version date below will change.
